Spooky Events & Monster Drops
How Monster Drops work, what you can collect, and how points are earned.
Once a server manager turns on the Halloween event, monsters start appearing in the event channel. Each one drops an item, and everyone who reacts with the right emoji in time can collect it.
How to collect a drop
- A Monster Drop message appears, naming the monster and the item it dropped.
- The message tells you which emoji to react with. HalloweenBot adds ten different emojis to the message, so look for the right one.
- React within 60 seconds.
- When time runs out, the message updates to show who collected the item and how many points they earned.
The first 10 players to react collect each normal drop. Drops arrive at random, usually every 45 minutes to 2 hours.
Rarity and points
There are 40 monsters, and each one has a common, an uncommon and a rare item to drop.
| Rarity | Chance | Standard points |
|---|---|---|
| Common | 70% | 5 to 15 |
| Uncommon | 20% | 5 to 15 |
| Rare | 10% | 10 to 30 |
Items go into your inventory and points count towards your server's score. Check them with /inventory, and compare scores with /leaderboard using type: Candy Points.
Premium servers can change these point values, so yours may differ.
Special events
Sometimes a drop turns into something bigger.
| Event | What happens |
|---|---|
| Zombie Swarm | 2 to 3 monsters arrive one after another, with 40 seconds to react to each |
| Boss Raid | You get 2 minutes to react, but only the first 2 players win, for at least 100 points each |
| Ghost Invasion | Every drop is uncommon or rare |
| Double Candy | Points are multiplied, at least doubling them |
Zombie Swarms and Boss Raids can replace any normal drop at random. Ghost Invasion and Double Candy are limited-time events run across all servers by the HalloweenBot team.
Reward role
Your server may give a special role to whoever has the most points. It moves to the new leader as soon as someone takes first place, so you can lose it as well as win it.
When the event ends
If your server has an end date, drops stop when it passes. HalloweenBot posts the top 3 in the event channel, and the winner keeps the reward role.
Common questions
I reacted but didn't get anything. Make sure you used the emoji named in the message, not just any of the ten. Only the first 10 players to react to a normal drop collect it, so you may need to be quicker.
Why have the drops stopped? The server may be quiet, because drops wait for recent activity by default. The event may also have ended, or the bot may have lost access to the channel. If that happens, the server owner gets a message about it. Server managers can check event setup.
